Toledo Solar and CEO Aaron Bates were featured on the Energy Cast podcast

Aaron Bates, CEO and Chairman of Toledo Solar, was featured on Energy Cast podcast on an episode entitled, “161 | CadTel Cells | Toledo Solar.” During this 29-minute-long episode, Aaron talks with host Jay Dauenhauer about the benefits of CadTel solar cells, including their durability and overall performance. In particular, Aaron shares how CadTel has a wider spectral response (“band gap”), how it is unaffected by warm temperatures, and how it can be manufactured all over the world, eliminating the impact by global supply chains. Later in this episode, Aaron discusses the Inflation Reduction Act, and how he hopes it will level the playing field between solar manufacturing in the US and China. He further shares his hope for it to incentivize companies to manufacture domestically. Aaron elaborates, saying, “we kind of look at it as being a pretty good step in the right direction to get more dollars into the United States to build things here.” Looking to the future, Aaron describes Toledo Solar’s plan to manufacture semitransparent solar cells to be used in windows for cars and buildings. Aaron shares: “what we make, to be clear, is the most powerful transparent photovoltaic semiconductor in the world.” Aaron further notes that Toledo Solar will be servicing each marker depending on their needs. The podcast episode concludes with Aaron describing specific products Toledo Solar is potentially looking into, including sky lights and automotive glass. A direct link to Toledo Solar’s website is included in the episode description on the podcast’s webpage.
